I have enjoyed germinating seeds for as long as I can remember. I enjoyed germinating them in paper towels as a kid and watching them transform into large plants and trees.
But, plants are living things and part of a larger ecosystem that includes worms, snakes, parasites, fungus - and all sorts of other living things that are part of the larger ecosystem. As a former biology major, I understand how important it is for these living things to coexist. As a Squeamish Gardener, I don't enjoy this part of gardening one bit!
I do not hold a degree in horticulture, biology, agriculture - or any of the really essential disciplines to understand ecosystems, botany, or how to grow really well. But, as a Squeamish Gardener, my site is meant to be fun and full of my adventures and unsolicited advice to those who love gardening, but don't enjoy nature's creepy crawlies.
If you're a Squeamish Gardener, too, I'm sure you'll understand.
As you know from visiting my Squeamish Gardener page, you know that I don't enjoy gardening with things that creep me out!
I enjoy farming as a hobby and have another site dedicated to just this! Be sure to visit me here where I write about my adventures enjoying farming as a hobby: www.squeamishfarmer.com
I hope you will come back every week to learn about my squeamish adventures - and, to possibly share your own!
